Senior Analyst / Associate, Asset-Backed Securitization

Our client, a reputable middle market bank in New York City, is seeking a talented Senior Analyst/Associate to join their Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) Valuations team. This role involves supporting the valuation efforts for various asset-backed securities, ensuring accurate assessments, and providing analytical insights to support the bank's ABS portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ABS, excellent analytical skills, and experience with valuation methodologies.


Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the valuation process for a diverse portfolio of asset-backed securities, including auto loans, credit card receivables, residential mortgages, and other asset classes.
* Develop and maintain valuation models and methodologies to ensure accurate and consistent valuations.
* Conduct detailed analysis of underlying assets, cash flow projections, and risk factors to determine fair value.
* Collaborate with internal teams, including credit, risk, and portfolio management, to gather necessary data and insights for valuations.
* Prepare valuation reports and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.
* Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to inform valuation practices.
* Provide analytical support for investment decisions and portfolio management.
* Mentor and support junior analysts within the ABS group.
* Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge in ABS valuations.


Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field,
* Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in asset-backed securities, with a focus on valuations.
* Strong understanding of ABS structures, securitization processes, and valuation techniques.
* Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation software (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg, Intex).
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to ABS valuations.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with non-traditional asset classes and esoteric ABS.
* Familiarity with SEC Regulation AB II and its impact on ABS valuations.
* Strong network within the ABS industry and related sectors.
