Role Overview:
The AVP of Middle Market Casualty will head the Middle Market Casualty division, developing underwriting strategies and enhancing the value proposition for target markets. This role includes managing the Commercial Lines Product and Underwriting teams to ensure profitable growth. Key duties involve building strong partnerships with agents to meet growth targets, setting internal underwriting goals, and optimizing profits while reducing losses. This position reports to the Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer (DCUO), Casualty, and is fully remote with about 25% travel.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Applicants should have at least 10 years of advanced experience in E&S casualty products, insurance concepts, underwriting processes, and relevant regulations.
- Advanced knowledge in at least two of their core classes: 1) Construction, 2) Hospitality, 3) Residential Real Estate.
- Leadership experience in P&C insurance, particularly at an E&S carrier, is crucial.
- Strong leadership abilities, strategic planning skills, and excellent communication are essential.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
