Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Distressed Loans: Oversee a portfolio of distressed corporate loans (including wholesale and project finance) both domestically and internationally. These may involve complex situations such as syndicated loans, multiple creditors, or various levels of the capital structure.
- Credit Analysis & Monitoring: Regularly analyze borrower's financial health (including financial statements, cash flow projections, and key performance indicators) to determine the viability of the loan and potential for restructuring.
- Loan Restructuring: Propose strategies for restructuring distressed loans, including negotiating terms or selling the loans to minimize losses.
- Develop & Implement Action Plans: Create action plans for each distressed credit, including potential liquidations, loan sales, or continued financing.
- Reporting & Communication: Prepare detailed reports on loan performance, including forecasts, risk ratings, and proposed solutions. Communicate regularly with senior management about the portfolio's performance and risks.
- Legal & Negotiations: Work with internal and external legal teams to negotiate loan amendments, waivers, or settlements. Handle negotiations with borrowers and other creditors.
- Portfolio Management: Ensure proper accruals, reporting, and ongoing monitoring of each loan's performance.
- Leadership: Mentor and guide junior team members. Provide on-the-job training and supervise their work on assigned accounts.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all actions adhere to company policies, regulatory standards, and risk management guidelines.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in workout management for complex corporate loans or 3 years in a turnaround consulting firm.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of financial analysis, loan documentation, and banking guidelines.
- Expertise in cash flow modeling, credit analysis, and structuring loan workouts.
- Ability to negotiate complex loan restructurings and settlements.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with financial software tools like Excel, Bloomberg, and Moody's.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
