Role Overview: As the AVP Underwriter for Surety, you will:
- Collaborate with the Head of North America Surety to develop and manage a profitable and technically sound portfolio.
- Build and enhance the brand by maintaining a strong market presence with key clients and brokers.
- Promote a culture of agility, high performance, client-centricity, and solution-oriented decision-making.
- Represent the company at market events, client meetings, underwriting reviews, and workshops as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting and pricing guidelines, operational procedures, and corporate policies.
- Support portfolio management and risk accumulation monitoring.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including actuarial, claims, and wording departments.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of primary and/or reinsurance underwriting experience in North America Surety.
- A solid understanding of market trends and the ability to leverage them for improvement opportunities.
- Experience in a diverse, multicultural environment.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, and communication skills.
- A proven track record of meeting defined targets and goals.
- A self-motivated attitude with high energy.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
- Adaptability and openness to new ideas and technologies.
- Willingness to travel 30-40% (domestic and international).
