Title: Complex Claims Specialist
Location: New York
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the most complex & high exposure claims
- Execute coverage verification, claim investigation, reserving & disposition
- Manage litigation management, trial monitoring & reporting
- Reach claim settlements directly or with attorneys
- Go to trials & mediations if needed
- Communicate with all external and internal partners
- Work with defense counsel on litigation including disposition strategy
- Make sure counsel is working within prescribed budget & defense counsel guidelines
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required, attorney preferred
- 7-10 years of direct claim handling experience preferred
- Medical Professional Liability experience preferred
- Ability to keep a high degree of confidentiality
