Our client, a rapidly expanding fund in London, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with the potential to advance into a CTO role in the future. This position is ideal for someone with prior experience in a hedge fund environment and a solid understanding of Risk. You will work closely with the Head of Risk and Trading to develop tools and reports, and collaborate with the COO, who oversees internal infrastructure and data engineering.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, capable of explaining complex technical processes to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head of Risk and Trading to design and build tools and reports tailored to their specific needs.
- Continuously refine these solutions to adapt to changing market conditions and company goals.
- Work closely with the COO on infrastructure and data engineering projects, providing hands-on technical support and driving efficiency improvements.
- Oversee the company's codebase, ensuring it is well-maintained, secure, and optimised for performance.
- Implement best practices in software development and regularly refine existing code.
- Mentor junior engineers and support the team by fostering a collaborative environment and promoting best practices.
- Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and ensure alignment with the broader business strategy.
Requirements:
- Proven track record in software development, ideally within finance or hedge funds.
- Strong leadership potential and a desire to advance into a Chief Technology Officer position.
- extensive experience with Python and related libraries, particularly in a fund
- Knowledge of risk management principles and experience developing risk-related tools.
