Our client is a multi-strategy hedge fund based in London with a strong historical and financial track record. They are currently seeking an experienced Vendor Systems Administrator to liaise with their 3rd party vendors whilst remaining technical to handle technical performance and perform troubleshooting tasks.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial services, ideally coming from a major hedge fund or asset manager.
Responsibilities:
* Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
* Collaborate with external vendors for technical resolutions and system upgrades.
* Implement and maintain automation tools and scripts.
* Assist in developing and implementing DevOps best practices.
* Participate in planning and executing system upgrades and migrations.
* Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Requirements:
* 5+ years in a similar financial industry role, hedge funds or asset management.
* Experience in vendor relationship management, contract negotiations, and SLA management, MSPs.
* Proven track record in 3rd party vendor systems administration and support (trading systems, risk management systems).
* Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
* Cloud knowledge, AWS, GCP or Microsoft Azure * Configuration management tools: Ansible mainly, Puppet, or Chef.
* Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
* Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent communication skills for interacting with technical teams, traders, portfolio managers, and vendors.
