Summary:
This client is a global investment bank looking to add a VP Senior Audit Manager to their group covering Asset Management. The Internal Audit team plays a critical role in maintaining the firm's controls and governance by assessing the effectiveness of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and risk management. In this role, you will be responsible for leading audits across the firm's investment management operations, ensuring that internal controls are robust and continuously improved. This role involves significant collaboration with senior management, offering valuable insight into the firm's control environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the business areas, products, and supporting functions within Asset Management.
- Lead audit testing and supervise junior team members, ensuring the focus is on high-risk areas and that documentation meets quality standards.
- Identify risks and assess mitigating controls, making recommendations for improvements in the control environment.
- Prepare audit findings and conclusions, presenting them to senior management and relevant business leaders, and ensure follow-up on open audit issues.
- Contribute to department-wide initiatives aimed at improving audit processes and infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in internal audit or public accounting within the financial services industry or related control functions.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage relationships and guide junior team members.
- Expertise in analyzing business risks and controls, particularly within the asset management, private banking, or private equity sectors.
- A 4-year degree in finance, accounting, or a quantitative discipline; a graduate degree is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as CPA, CFA, CIA, or NASD Series are preferred.
